How we put out 5 senses to work
Sensory experiences are provided through with a wide variety of hands on, real world sensory experiences appropriate for the child’s age and stage of development. These activities encourage the refinement of the child’s senses and give them experiences that enable them to be more aware of the world around them. They enhance visual discrimination, auditory awareness and chromatic sense. Indirectly they prepare the child for later language and mathematical work. Messy play is often used to stimulate the senses and we take advantage of our large outdoor space and countryside setting to provide first hand real experiences of nature. Activities exploring botany, geography, zoology and science are designed to promote experiences that encourage the child to explore their environment and learn about the world around them and also to broaden their knowledge of other cultures and promote fairness and inclusivity.
